Basketball fans are getting the best present they could ask for on Christmas Day - a long lineup of televised NBA games. This year has some high-profile matchups both casual and diehard fans will relish as they see superstars hit the hardwood floor on Dec. 25 (a Thursday).

The Minnesota Timberwolves (16-9) look for their seventh win in eight games when they host the struggling Sacramento Kings (6-19), who have lost two straight and six of seven, at Target Center in Minneapolis on Sunday night.

The NBA Cup was supposed to be a midseason curiosity, a made-for-TV experiment designed to juice December basketball and give fans something shiny to argue about before Christmas.
