At $69.95 per line they're a bargain in today's fly line world. As to the line handling bigger dry flies: leader length and taper are more likely to determine how the fly turns over on a river 25' wide than any modern fly line designed for a 3 weight.
Hey gang - Over the last few years I've been lucky enough to be invited on a recurring vacation up to Cle-Elum in/around the Suncadia area. This year we're going to be staying a few miles south of Cle Elum lake in a section of the river where it looks to shallow out and break up in places -...
Hi all, my cheap breathable stocking foot waders have finally started leaking hard, and I’m looking for a new pair. Has anyone had experience with Paramount Outdoors waders? Specifically the “Deep Eddy Zippered Breathable Stockingfoot” waders? I want to give zippered waders a try for the first...

Even more important than the fly pattern is the intent it was tied with. Bull trout prefer a fly that was tied in hopes of encountering a different species. Don't even think about tying flies for bull trout or targeting them. They aren't interested if you're pursuing them.
I was going to add a section of mono to a friend's line, for attaching leaders to. What diameter of material would you recommend for a 5 wt line? And on a similar theme, what diameter of material do you start with for butt sections of leaders? Obviously it might vary with line weight...
Fly tyers can be masters at making things complicated! Poor quality materials and tools are destined to discourage beginner tiers and cause greater expense when the time comes to replace them.
What are your thoughts on which fly box works best for streamers for trout and steelhead? I am tir d of the ones I have and tend to like to be as organized as possible with my flies. Thanks
